Job Title: Medication Technician 


Hours: Hourly, non-exempt position


Reports To: Executive Director

 

Overview of Position:

The Medication Technician position is responsible for overall compliance regarding waiver participant’s MARs, Scripts, HRST updates, and medical follow up appointments. Other office duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications:

The Medication Technician is to have, at a minimum:

  1. A high school diploma or GED, and be at least 18 years or older; or

be 21 years or older;

  1. Ability to adequately communicate with recipients and staff;
  2. A valid Social Security number or a valid work permit if not a U.S. citizen;
  3. Ability to read, understand, and implement instructions and have the ability to perform required documentation;
  4. Must be able to meet the physical and emotional demands of a high paced office setting, which may include lifting.
  5. Ability to meet all deadlines as required by AssuredLink.
  6. Ability to accept constructive criticism and willingness to self-improve.
  7. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  8. Successfully completed a DDID Medication Administration training course.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for reviewing, or transcribing, MAR templates and prescriptions prior to monthly implementation.
  2. Responsible for reviewing completed MARs, prescriptions (including standing medication orders, and any other physician order), controlled substance logs, and medical consults, on a monthly basis.
  3. Responsible for uploading completed MARs and prescriptions into Oasis participant records, as well as above listed items
  4. Responsible for ensuring medical appointment follow ups are completed.
  5. Responsible for ensuring compliance amongst all prescriptions, logs,
  6. Responsible for conducting site visits to ensure medication compliance.
  7. Responsible for updating Health Risk Screening Tool (HRST) as needed and annually per waiver requirements.
  8. Assisting with agency file audits.
  9. Represent the program's mission and core values of the organization to agencies, organizations, and the general public.
  10. Maintain a clean and presentable office.
  11. Establish sound working relationships and cooperative arrangements with contract providers, community groups and organizations.
  12. Maintain a positive attitude at all times.
  13. Complete all training in the required timeframes and stay current on all recertification training.
  14. Other duties as assigned.
